Bento No# 97: Hello Kitty Bento

I got a present in my mailbox that day! The parcel was full of hello kitty bento stuff from a new friend, who is 100% Hello Kitty fan! :)

Thus, I able to made Hello Kitty theme bento with the new tools, the Hello Kitty picks, the Hello Kitty stencil and the Hello Kitty sauce container!

The stencil is bigger than the Hello Kitty cookie cutter. Thus, the whiskers cannot be seen. LOL. This simple Hello Kitty bento is definitely for my little niece, Chloe. :)

Breakfast for the Little One

I have not been making bento for my niece for so long. She asked me why I did not make a bento for her already and I promised her that I will make one for her next day. But I failed to keep my promise as I have lack of sleep that night. She asked her mum why can I not keep my promise. @.@ I felt so bad. Then I told her I would make her breakfast when I'm not working.

This was a very simple breakfast I made for her one weekend. She was happy with it. Refused to share with her sister. =.='''

Bento No# 96: Boy Girl Bento

I packed this fried egg, ham and cheese sandwiches for hubby and myself on early August as breakfast.
I also included harshbrown and chilli sauce in the cute little panda sauce container. I am not satisfied with the girl. It look so "cacat" here. :p

Bento No# 95: Chloe and Little Panda Bento

Opppss...I realised I have not been posting my bentos for so long. And I still have bento that I made in July yet to post. This is the last bento I made in July. A very simple bento for my niece, Chloe.

I can't remember what I put inside the mini bite sized sandwich. I also packed some grapes into the box, with her name on it, CHLOE. Love the alphabet picks. A great way to teach kids spelling heh?! :)

Hello Kitty Pan Mee / Mien Fen Gao

Hello my friends. My girl is finally recovered from HFMD. I was so happy when she asked for milk. XD

Okay, I believe most of my friends noticed my new photos on my blog. Yeap. That is my little girl. :) I wanted to blog about that photos, the Hello Kitty pan mee.

The idea was coming from a new friend of mine who bought cutters from me. She told me she wants to make pan mee for her good friend's daughter with the cutters. I never thought of that idea and I told my MIL. One afternoon, she said she going to make pan mee. Then, I used my hello kitty cookie cutters to get the cut out from the dough. The kids were very excited and could not wait to have it! You can actually make it with different shapes. But I only made hello kitty and sugar bunny. We usually have the pan mee in soup, served together with dried anchovies, minced pork and leafy vegetables.
This is my girl having the hello kitty pan mee. The hello kitty head is too big for her. The sugar bunny is perfect size for her. All her cousins love it as well! Since that day, they keep buggering their grandmom to cook hello kitty pan mee! LOL.

Personally, I think it is really a briliant idea to make this hello kitty pan mee. You can actually make any other shapes as you like. It is really cute and attractive. :)

Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease (HFMD)

:(( My little girl is infected by hand, foot and mouth disease. We discovered yesterday night. She in fact infected by both her cousins, who are also infected from schoolmate. As soon as we discovered the both sisters infected by HFMD, we already prohibit her from playing together and the both sisters actually even moved out from the house. Anyway, it was too late.

I will be back to post my outstanding bentos after my girl is recovered.

Bento No# 94: Chicky / Bird Bento?

Oh.. time flies. It is in the month of August now. But I love this month as Hari Raya falls on this month. This means I will be having straight 4 days holiday (including weekend) in a row! Yippie!!

Ok. I made this bento in the middle of July. My SIL is moved back from Singapore permanently. Meaning, she able to spend more time with her two lovely daughters now. The day before, she cooked spaghetti for them and she cooked extra spaghetti and kept in the fridge. So, next morning, I only need to re-heat the spaghetti and easily cook the minced meat together with the bolognese sauce. I added sliced egg to decorate the bento. This round, the face details were cut out using Karaemama's puncher. I love this cut out. :) Then I added some flower cheese using Karaemama's cutter as well.
Alright. I have to get back to work. My body has been aching since morning. I guess, it is sign of me getting fever soon. =( I just have very bad antibody, getting sick so easily.

Bento No# 93: My Melody in my Heart

I'm sorry for not keep my blog up to date. I have been busy with my year end closing at work. (never ever choose accounting as your profession!) And I know actually "steal" my working time in office to blog for awhile. ssshhh....
I named this "My Melody in My Heart" bento. Inside the "heart" are ham and cheese. Included in the breakfast box are grapes and kiwis. I made two similar bento, one for myself and one for my niece. =)

Bento No # 92: Pac Man Bento

Hello hello my bento friends! My first bento I made for weekend. hehe. I usually made bento on weekdays for the kids, myself and hubby. However, I made this on early July weekend because I was going to work that Saturday and I found mini burger bun from a local bakery shop a day before. I have been looking for mini burger bun for so long.

Actually I have no idea what does this bento looks like. I posted in my FB page and asked my friends to guess. Some said Elmo, some said pac man. I guess it looks like pac man more. I think the easiest and less messy work of bento is involved NO nori. I used cheese and chocolate chips for the eye. It is actually back bacon and egg burger. Oh ya, this is for the kids at home, meaning my nieces. :)
This one is for myself to work.

Oh ya, meantime, why not drop by my new bento store at Bento Mama Supplies and my FB page?

Bento No# 91: Snoopy and Mini Animals Bento

I'm on the way catching up the outstanding bentos to post again! Here another two bentos I made early July . .
This is for my niece, Chloe. I used the cutter that I bought from Daiso. The cutter has been idle in the box for quite some time and finally I took it out and used it again. The idea came from a bento mummy. Simple yet nice. =) The sandwich is filled with nutella chocolate. Her favourite.
This is snoopy bento for myself. The sandwich is filled with salmon mayo. The ear appeared too small compared to the head. =.=''' Included in the box are golden kiwis and finger hashbrown.

In the meantime, why not drop by my new bento online store and say "hi" to me? =)

Bento No# 90: Bear Bento

I made this early this month. Sorry for the outdated post.

The long hot dog bun with salmon mayo fillings. Goes along with kiwis and grapes. This is mine. Okay, I am a big child. Hehe
This is for my niece. She woke up very early that day and sat beside me and watched me making her bento. The filling is nutella chocolate spread based on her request. Goes along with grapes and coco crunch. It has been quite a long time I did not fix a bento for her.

Bento No# 89: Sunny Day Bento

There was food left from granny's birthday. I re-heat and pack for next day breakfast. Add on a sunny egg on top. =) Have a great day!

Granny's Birthday

It was hubby's granny's (maternal side) birthday on early July. She is 73 years old this year. She is recovered from battling a cancer. Im so proud of her. Although I do not have much interaction with her, but she is a lovable and approachable granny. She would talk to me when she visits my MIL. I too, will talk to her. =)

On her birthday, all her children threw her a warm birthday party at home. I love the family gathering. Love the home cooked food as well. LOL.

I ordered this homemade carrot cake for her birthday. She loves it, as it is not too sweet and the nice decoration on top. The decoration was based on my request. =)

Happy birthday granny! Im happy to see you happy and smiling. =)

By the way, today is my birthday. =) I will be having dinner (only both me and hubby) later after work. My girl is not joining. No peaceful dinner if she joins. LOL. However, hubby taught her to sing happy birthday song to me last night, in mandarin and english version. She then trying to sing the song again and again. Her version of birthday song is, "shen ri kuai le". LOL. She learnt about "birthday" during granny's birthday early July. When I asked her what do we have when having birthday? She said cake and flower! LOL.

Bento No# 88: Hello Kitty and Stitch Bento

Last bento for June 2012. =p

A very simple salmon mayo bento.

A hello kitty version for myself.

This one for hubby. Again, he finished everything in the car, before he reached office. =p

Back Bacon with Garlic Flavoured Sausage

I saw this recipe from WokkingMum and it looks so yummy to me! And hence, I tried this out. =)

I did not pack hubby's one for him to bring to work. Hence, this is his breakfast, goes together with a glass of orange juice. A good day to start with! He loves it! =)

This is mine. Tried to put inside this bento box but not able to fit in. End up, I also had this at home with hubby before off to work. =p

Bento No# 87: Sunny Bread Cup

I saw a mummy posted a photo of bread cup in Mummies Connect Group in FB. The bread cup is filled with   egg and back bacon. Thinking it is a good idea of this both combination, I give it a try last month. :)

This are mine. The bread cup are burnt a bit. Was trying to use the bacon as the hair, but I don't think it looks like hair. :=p

The closer look. =)

This is for my hubby. =) His favourite food, egg. LOL..

Bento No #86: Teru Teru Bozu Bento

I made this last month too. I was inspired by Kaeremama. She has step by step on how to make this teru teru bozu. However, my version is not good enough. Sigh.
What do you think? Does it looks like teru teru bozu if i don't tell? :p

Bento No# 84: Penguin Bento

Bread cup again! I kinda like bread cup as it is quite easy to prepare. To save time, I prepared the bread a night before and keep it in air tight container.

Salmon and melted shredded mozarella cheese bread cups. I filled up the gap with golden kiwis, my favourite. Hubby had three and I have two for myself. I did little penguin standing on each bread cup. How cute! :p

Bento No# 83: Little Puppy Bento

Hubby loves soba. He will asked for soba everytime i asked him what he wants for tomorrow breakfast. So, i granted his wish this morning.

This round, i filled up the little pail with grapes inside, so the little puppy would not fall in. :p I also shortened the sausages because i only have this type of mini sausage in the freezer.

So, here you go. The cold soba with little puppy popping out from the pail. :))

Bento No# 82: Rilakkuma Bento

I guess, the easiest cartoon character to do is always rilakkuma. Therefore, rilakkuma bento for this morning. :p

Rilakkuma bear with ears are mine and without ears are for hubby. It is pork sirloin ham and cheese sandwich. I did not make any bento for the kids as i was late. Do you notice my new panda pick? It is so cute and i love them! My SIL bought from taiwan for me. I gave her a list to buy but she only managed to buy a few. She said it is hard to get bento stuff that i want from Taipei. The salesgirl said it is getting lesser now. Sad. :((

Bento No# 81: Elmo Bento

Hello! How do you do? Do you like elmo? I like elmo very much. So, yesterday i made elmo. I stole the idea from Bentomonsters. :p
I think there is still room for improvement. I feel something wrong, just does not looks right, but i just cant tell.

I did not make for hubby. I only packed him simple egg mayo sandwich for him. I have full kids in the house for these two weeks. I made two for the kids. Hope they like it. Another one for myself. :))

Bento No# 80: My Family Bento

I did this on last thursday. It was my first attempt on bread ball. I have seen this at many bento blogs but i have no courage to do. Finally i made it, but pretty ugly work. :p

The box with red grapes is mine and with green grapes is for hubby as he prefers green grapes. It was quite a pretty ugly faces, i know especially the hair. I shall practice and learn how to cut the hair nicely. The bread balls are stuffed with pork floss. The three bread balls represent my little girl, hubby and myself. :p

Bento No# 79: Hello Kitty Bento (again...)

Yeah. I just made hello kitty two days ago and today im back with hello kitty again. My niece has been asking for hello kitty bento since last week and i did not make one for her last two days. :p
However, it is another easy and quick one. But this round, the hello kitty are without whiskers. I was running out of time because i woke up late and i do not bother to put whiskers then. I even do not have time to prepare cute bento for hubby (although i know he does not mind/want).

Bento No# 78: Bread Cup Bento

I get the idea from Bentomonsters as she shared great and wonderful tutorial on how to make bread cup. I decided to give it a try yesterday.

I prepared the bread a night before and kept it at air tight container. Next morning, i just boiled the eggs and prepared egg and ham mayo. I was afraid i failed as i prepared extra bread cup. End up, i made total of 7 bread cups. LOL.

Therefore, the extra one i made for my colleague. :))

Hubby loves it. I will make again this weekend. :))

Bento No# 77: Hello Kitty Bento

It was a speedy bento on last monday morning. I just grabbed hello kitty cutter and ta-da...a very simple butter and kaya sandwich.

See the golden kiwis? It has been missing from my bento for quite some time and now, its back! I dont know why, i just could not find my favourite golden kiwis. It seems like out of supply from all local hypermarkets. I was so happy when i see it is back to store on last weekend.

Bento No# 76: Elephant Bento

I made spaghetti this morning. Hubby prefers bolognese than carbonara.

It is an elephant bento today! I get this idea from Mothering Corner. I pre-cut the elephant wording a night before. Next morning, I just put in microwave to warm up. But I overlooked the time and the ham was overcooked. =(
See the elephant wording? It is so ugly. >.< I put a grass baran at the back of the elephant so that it does not look so dull.
This is for hubby. Awww...the ugly elephant wording. =(

My new bento box. The box is quite deep, thus it is suitable for rice/noodles packing. It comes with strap too (not in the photo). I got this at RM5 each. What a steal!

A funny conversation took place this morning.

Hubby: Dear, do you take wrong bento with you? (I left the house earlier than him)
Me: Huh, no. Why?
Hubby: Why mine is froggie bento box?
Me: This bento box is suitable for noodles mah! You shy?
Hubby: Yes! Im shy to take this bento box.

Hahaha. In fact, I purposely to use this bento box as the normal bento box I packed sandwich is not deep enough. And soon after he finished his spaghetti in office, he watsapp-ed me saying that he is shy and all his colleague keep saying so cute and asking him where to buy. LOL.
