Bento No# 82: Rilakkuma Bento

I guess, the easiest cartoon character to do is always rilakkuma. Therefore, rilakkuma bento for this morning. :p

Rilakkuma bear with ears are mine and without ears are for hubby. It is pork sirloin ham and cheese sandwich. I did not make any bento for the kids as i was late. Do you notice my new panda pick? It is so cute and i love them! My SIL bought from taiwan for me. I gave her a list to buy but she only managed to buy a few. She said it is hard to get bento stuff that i want from Taipei. The salesgirl said it is getting lesser now. Sad. :((

Bento No# 74: Sugarbunny Bento

*closed eyes with two hands*  (ashamed) I'm late again. I made this sugarbunny bento on last Tuesday. I was cracking my head what shall I do for my next morning bento and I recalled I have few cookie cutters yet to be used. So, I decided to make this little sugarbunny bento.
Included in the box are nutella sandwich, popcorn harshbrown and grapes for my niece.

I only packed non decorative bento for myself and hubby. Hubby told me he does not need a cute bento. (He is shy to bring cute bento to work :p). If I am running out of time, I will just pack normal bento for him. If I have time and the bento is speedy to work out, then I will pack a cute one for him. =)

This is mine. Included in the box are salmon mayo sandwich, popcorn harshbrown and grapes. See the little duckling? I love the picks so much. =)

This is for hubby. Inside the box, same as mine.

Hmmm, blog from computer is more organised than mobile blogging.

Bento No# 64 & 65: Hello Kitty Bento & Bed of Bread Bento

I was sick yesterday and not managed to wake up early to make bento. Hence, no bento for yesterday. I am okay now and today I am back for bento-ing. :)

I finally got myself hello kitty cookie cutter! Thus, today I made simple hello kitty bento for my niece. I used cheese for the hello kitty face and the underneatth is nutella sandwich, her favourite. The idea was inspired by another bento mummy, Bonita, you can check out her bento blog. All her bento are really really awesome!
Arrrgghh....what a lousy photo I have here. =.='' I added chocolate teddy bear cookies at both side to fill up the gap. But the light is too bad and the teddy bear cannot be seen here. :-( I also noticed that the cheese is melting too fast here as the hello kitty face is "glowing". LOL. I should try other brand of cheese then.
As for myself and hubby, I just made this two simple bento using the sandwich cutter. I named this Bed of Bread. LOL. I just feel like having BREAD only. Maybe because I do not have appetite yet. Was having bad flu since last two days. I am recovering now. :)

Bento No# 62: Sealed Mini Sandwich Bento

Finally I bought this mini sandwich cutter from Bento Craft. I have been eyeing for this cutter for so long and now finally I bought it. It is a good investment I would say as it is really easy to use and time saving for bento making. Why? Because it pop out 4 mini sandwich at one go! :)

I made kaya mini sandwich for my niece as she requested for kaya. I also included mini sausages to go with it as my fridge is running out of fruits. >< Lastly, I add the animals food picks on each mini sandwich. Aww, that is so colorful and cute. When she woke up this morning, I asked her which bento box she wants and immediately she choose the animals family! :)

The simpler one is for myself. :)

Happy a great weekend everyone!

Bento No# 57: Marie The Cat Bento

I bought this marie the cat cookie cutter from a local bakery shop here. It's comes with two sets, one with the eye open and one with the eye closed.

I packed in a small lunch box which I bought from Daiso. I feel that it looks nicer with the smaller lunch box as it looks more compact and able to fill up the gap easily. I made three sets of marie the cat bento today. One for my niece of which I excluded the short hotdog for her, another two for hubby and myself which I include the rabbit (does not looks like ><) hotdog. Yeah, hubby got the small bento on last wednesday as he requested the small one. He said he dont want to eat too full in the morning as he wants to keep his tummy space for sushi feast with his colleagues!

I showed my colleagues on my marie the cat bento and told them how easy is the bento and know what.. three colleagues asked me to help them get the cutter as well! Lol. I am spreading the bento making bug to my colleagues. Hahaha..

Bento No# 56: Simple Back Bacon and Scrambled Egg Sandwich Bento

I love eggs. You can have lots of ways to cook the egg and as a noob in cooking, I am still learning. So, I tried scrambled egg on last friday. I read on how to make an fluffy scrambled egg but this time I was failed. It looked like fried scrambled egg. :-( Any tips that I need to take care of?
The sandwich consist of two slice of toasted white bread (half sliced for my niece),grilled back bacon and failed scrambled egg. Haha. I have no idea how to decorate the sandwich as the sandwich looked bulky. :p So, as usual I would use the picks! Love the cute picks so much. XD

Grilled on the medium heat saucepan and put a slice of cheese on top. Then put the grilled ham on top and covered with another slice of buttered bread. Bento No# 51: Winnie The Pooh Bento

Awww... I just discovered that there is mobile blogging function for blogger and it is downloadable from Android market. How cool is that? I have so many posts to catch up as I just lazy to transfer the bento photos from my hp to pc and then blog about it as most of the time blogging idea comes so instantly.

Yeah, this indeed a very outstanding bento post, winnie the pooh bento. I found winnie the pooh cutter from a local bakery supplies shop here and it is cheap. I bought all three designs. Lol.
I used carrot sandwich as winnie the pooh as the imprints will look more prominent. It is a super simple and speedy bento. I really suggest to get few of this cutter for your bento making if you are running out of time. :p

Bento No# 48: Musical and Little Boy and Girl Bento

When was my last post on bento? LOL. I am nearly attacked by lazy bug again. Hmm, not really lazy, just I was been very busy over few weekends. As I have fulltime office job, I only able to blog at night. However, you know, as a mum, most of your time has being given to your little one. :) So, normally I would post during weekend, when I am free. Last few weekends were a hectic to me. A lot of things happened. Now I am back to my feet again. XD
There was still spam leftover in the fridge. So, I thought it was a good idea to finish it and can re-stock again. I was lack of idea again and thought of making a simple bento. So, out of nothing, I did this, musical bento. What a simple one. *shame shame*
Musical Note Bento
I thought of making animal bento for my niece, Chloe using bread roll. However, I was running out of time. She woke up earlier that day and saw I was in the process in making bento. She asked why her bento is so plain. I immediately grab this little boy and little girl picks. Ahh…this cute picks are really my bento life saver! LOL. Then I also bought this cute panda cookies from Tesco yesterday, as I think this is great for bento. How cute it is!
So, this was my first bento for March 2012! :)
Few more outstanding bento posts coming up!

Bento No# 44: Caterpillar Bento

I see lots of mummies made caterpillar bento, hence, I also would like to give it a try. This was the only time I made bento with LEAST bread wastage, as I did not cut the side out. I used the whole piece of bread.
Chloe's caterpillar bento

Hubby's caterpillar bento

My caterpillar bento
All the three caterpillar bentos!
Today sandwich consists of fried scrambled egg, ham and cheese! Wow, how yummy it is! :p I used mini cocktail sausages as the caterpillar body and punched out the legs and face details using nori. The legs are punched out using music note puncher of which I got it from Daiso. I also packed my own made chocolate for hubby and myself. None for my niece, as to limit her intakes of chocolates! The golden pack is Rosetta milk chocolate cream sandwich cookies bought by my sister in law. Nice one! She got it from Singapore.

Bento No# 41: Valentine Teddy Bento

I was very tired yesterday and fall asleep very early. I managed to wake up as usual but I did not make any bento for myself as my colleague is buying me nasi lemak as breakfast. So, I only made for hubby and niece. Instead, only made for niece and only packed normal (without any decoration) for hubby. Since I only going to make one bento, thus I was trying to do valentine teddy bento. The idea is from Bento, Monsters.
Valentine Teddy Bento
Firstly, I cut the white bread according to the box size so it can fit nicely in. I made ham and cheese sandwich. She loves it! Secondly, I cut the teddy bear head using the cutter. However, I free-hand cut the body and the hand. So, you can see it is more like kitty body at the end. I spread a little bit mayo to stick the body and head to the white bread. Then proceed with the face details. The valentine teddy is holding a marshmallow candy! I put some sprinkles to make it more colorful.

Bento No# 37: Valentine's Bento

Hubby will be outstation on valentine's day and only will be back on that night. So, I prepared valentine's bento earlier. This time, I packed in a smaller lunchbox and therefore, it looks more compact and fit nicely.

Valentine's Bento
A simple one. Love shape sandwich with love shape mini wiener. I free cut the hand myself, that's why it looks a bit "cacat". I also boiled some baby carrots to fill up the gap. Lastly, my favourite fruit, kiwis.

Early wish here, Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Bento No# 36: Happy Birthday Bento

First of all, I would like to wish my dearest hubby a very happy birthday! I can’t wait for today to make this birthday bento for him. I have been thinking what to put into the box since two days ago. *lol* And know what, I even dreamt that I was late this morning and I could not make a birthday bento for him. I kept on waking up in the middle of night. End up, my colleague said I have a pale look this morning. >.<

Back to the special birthday bento for my hubby. A two-tier sandwich cake with “Happy Birthday” wordings. The alphabet cutter is too small and I spent most of my time cutting, picking and arranging the alphabets on the cake. It is actually an easy task, but due to the cheese melting faster than I expected, so I have a hard time picking up and putting it nicely on the cake. I guess I shall get a bigger alphabet cutter. I added flower sugar on top to make it more colorful. He has bunch of animal friends to sing a song and celebrate with him! LOL. In Chinese custom, we would normally have mee sua and red eggs on the birthday. In fact, my mother in law really boiled few eggs on his chinese birthday which fall on 9th day of CNY.  So, I added a cutie egg for him, to symbolized his birthday. Lastly, I added kiwis and grapes for him. I wanted to make a “present” tie up with ribbon for him actually, but I was really running out of time. >.<

Happy birthday to you my dearest hubby

As for myself, I had this very simple rabbit bento as I was running out of time to prepare a fancy one. I packed the fruits separately.

Bento No# 35: Little Girl Bento

I have been looking high and low for round shape cutter but I could not find. There are so many cookie cutters around but yet, there is no simple round cutter. I bought a round cutter previously, then only realized it is actually to make doughnut as there is another smaller round cutter in the middle. So, when you use to cut the bread, the center will be cut off as well. Last night, I suddenly think back what I have read from all the bento mamas’ blogs. Some of them actually saying they using any “cutter” that available in the house. Then only I realized actually I can use cup maybe? J

My bento in blue box and my niece one at the back with red color box

Hubby has two little girl accompany him today! LOL

All the three

So here it goes. I cut the bread, cheese and ham using the Avent cup. Then I used my face cutter that I bought from Daiso to cut the ham. Use the same cutter again to cut the cheese to make the hair. Then I used nori as mouth and eye. To make it more colorful, I put two flower sugar on top of the hair as decoration. For hubby’s bento, I used green and blue color flower sugar. Hehe.
