Bento No# 14 : Anpanman Bento

Finally I got myself a round cutter. Hence, I made Anpanman bento today!!! It was an easy and speedy bento I would say. Inside the fillings are sliced cheese and ham. I made 2-tier sandwich. The faces are cut out from round cutter, eye from nori puncher and the eyebrow and mouth from chocolate rice. Then I use my newly bought diamond pick on her nose. :p I also packed some seedless grapes to the bento and separate it with the cute animal divider.

Bento No# 13: Chee Cheong Fun Bento

FIL bought chee cheong fun a night before for next day breakfast. So, I only need to re-heat it. The sauces are packed in the food cube that I bought to store food for my little girl. Hmm, at least the cubes do not stay idle. Hehe. I attempted to cut the sausages with the flower, love shape small cutter and grilled it. But it failed as I grilled for too long. *slaphead* I learned my lesson. I also packed some guava. I put cute picks to add some cuteness. LOL.

Bento No# 12: Lovey Chicky Bento

My niece, Chloe was on school break and currently spending her holiday in Singapore. Thus, I do not need to fix a bento to her. But I am sure she would love this bento if she sees this photo! *shameless me*

Finally I found the love shape picks which I have looking for loooong time!!! I bought it from Daiso at RM5 per pack only! What a great deal isn’t it? :p Therefore, I decided to fix a chicky bento today. How is it? I super like this cute chicky bento. However, the chicky “wings” which I used from sliced cheese looks like fried egg, do you agree? LOL. Goes together in the bento are: hotdogs with chilli sauce, little flower shape of sandwich (left over from the bread) and ferrero rocher as you can see!!

Bento No# 10: Lady Bird (?) Bento

Simple and quick one. Bought Gardenia Twiggies and and Choco Raisin bread yesterday. I only "touch-up" the twiggies and only put a pick on the choco raisin bread.

Chloe Made Bento!!!

I just bought the gingerman cutter from a baker shop and also small size butterscotch bread from Bakers Cottage. This morning I asked Chloe if she wants to make the bento herself. Immediately she said yes! I guided her and here are the results! 2 star shape and one gingerman sandwich. Not bad isn’t it? Now I really think that bento-making is really good as in you can pack cute breakfast for your little one if she or he is a fussy eater (kids tend to be more happy if the cute stuff appears infront of them) and you may get them involved in the bento making as well. A good bonding time between you and your kids too. Hmmm… I wish my little girl also loves my new hobby so she can joins in as well. :-p

Made by Chloe

Bento No# 7: Smiley Bento

Instead of “throwing” away the side of the bread, today I made this smiley sandwich using whole piece of bread. Doesn’t waste, how good it is! The mouth is punched using the nori puncher from Daiso, the eyes are from sliced cheese and chocolate chips. I also packed the left over double chocolate swiss roll and cookies for the big appetite me.

Bento No# 6: Kitty Bento

How about this little kitty bento for today? The 3-tier sandwich are consist of sliced cheese and ham. The face details are made from chocolate rice and the eye are made from chocolate chips and sliced cheese. Not difficult to do, but the assembling of the face details took my time as the chocolate rice is so tiny. I also put some honey stars and coco crunch in the silicon cups.

First 5 Bentos!

Below are my very first five bento creations. A very simple one with minimal decoration. But it looks neat to me. :)

The very first bento I made for my niece, Chloe. The birdie with honey stars as based. She was so happy when she saw this!

Next day, I asked her what bento she likes. She told me she wants bear! Thus, I made this bearie family for her. She told me she could not finished it. LOL. Quite heavy for 4 years old girl. :-p

My third bento was rabbits bento with 3 wieners. I also packed tomato sauce for her inside the Stitch small container to go with wieners.

My niece, Chloe requested love bento from me. This is just a very simple bento I made for her. Lack of ideas. >.<'''

What does this looks like? I do not have idea what to do in the morning. I bought one green tea and one double chocolate swiss roll each. Totally no idea how to decorate, here is the result. After I took the photo, it looks like a ship, don't you agree? The honey stars are the sea. :-p

The Birth of the Bento Diary

I actually started to know about bento few years back while I was blog hopping. The first blog that inspired me was actually from Mothering Corner. I was really enjoyed reading her blog and of course all the cute bento photos!! Few years back, I was also hoping that I could make nice and healthy bento to my kids in the future. But then, I stopped following her blog for don’t know what reason.

Until few months back when I joined my new company which the working hours starts at 8am!!! I used to be reach office at around 8.30am to 8.45am in my previous company and having breakfast in the office. But I do not able to enjoy this privilege (although manager level has the flexibility of the working hours of which can be late without deducting salary) and openly having my fried mee hoon on my desk!
I always stopped by petrol kiosk to get my BREAD for my breakfast and I was really kinda sick with it. Until one day I decided to pack my own breakfast. Immediately I recalled of all the cute and nice bento bloggers around. I read thru and saved all the bento photos to my pc. And I told hubby that I would make breakfast bento for him and he was kind of does not believe me because he said it is hard for me as I gotta get off from bed as early as 6am to fix breakfast. I told him I will and the weekend, I got myself very basic bento tools from Daiso. Since then, Daiso is my must visit store whenever I went to shopping malls. I would check if there is new stuff for me. Besides Daiso, I also started to get some tools from online store, Bento Craft. And believe me or not, I browsed thru ALL their items (except for bento boxes)!!! They have more wide selections of bento tools compare to Daiso.

Soon, hubby got me a new hp, Samsung Galaxy SII and quickly I saved all the bento photos to my hp!! I am like a happy girl browsing thru the cute bento photos on my hp everyday and thinking what bento to fix the next day. LOL. Yes, I am STILL not sick of this new hobby and really enjoy it now. I feel happy when I seeing my own bento, able to provide hubby food (a simple one as I am really sucks in cooking) and seeing my niece looking forward her bento box every morning before going to school. Hmm, yeah… people happy, I am happy. Hence, the birth of this blog, Bento Makes Me Happy. J
